Woodward, Okla. — Christie Nix, 39 year old Woodward resident, died Tuesday, November 27, 2012 in Oklahoma City.   Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, December 1, 2012 in the First United Methodist Church of Woodward with Reverend Ed Dowty officiating.  Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

 

Christina Machelle (Holcombe) Nix was born June 17, 1973 in Perryton, Texas; she was the daughter of Oleta Mae Straughan.  When Christie was a  young girl she and her family moved to Woodward.  Christie attended school in Woodward.  She was blessed with two daughters, Haylie and MaKayla.  Christie was mainly a stay at home mom but did work briefly as a home health caretaker.  She was united in marriage to Michael Edward Nix on September 11, 2009 in Woodward.  They have made their home in Woodward since that time.

 

Christie spent most of her time with her family and loved to be with her girls.  She also enjoyed watching her nieces and nephews play ball.

 

Christie is survived by husband Mike Nix of the home; two daughters,  MaKayla Holcombe also of the home;  Haylie Wreath of Woodward; step-sons, Andon Nix of the home; Donovan Nix of Woodward;  one grandson, Eli Joseph Lee Irvin of Woodward; sisters, Debbie Tapia of Woodward; Shannon Evans of Taft; brothers; Lonnie Stafford and Dwayne Holcombe both of Woodward; Ronald Holcombe of Canadian, Texas; and Danny Holcombe and wife Geni of Oklahoma City; several nieces, nephews of other family members and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her mother Oleta Mae Straughn, step-father John Joel Straughan, sister LaDonna Shutts, niece Jodi Harrington, and nephew Cory Stafford.
