Woodward, Okla. —

Louise Buxton Davidson was born July 27, 1930, to Temple Evertte and Elena “Bugg” Trimeta (Queen) Buxton in Vici, OK, with Dr. Brace attending the birth. She passed from this life on March 27, 2014, at the age of 83. The family’s home was in Vici. Louise was in the 4th grade when the family moved to Arkansas. In the 1940’s while in Kentucky, her father was drafted, so her mother brought the family back to Oklahoma. Louise also lived in Illinois, Indiana, and Arizona. When Louise was twelve years of age, she accepted Jesus as her Savior. She was a baptized member of the First Christian Church in Vici, OK.

Louise finished her schooling years in Vici, graduating with the class of 1948. Louise then attended the Okmulgee Trade School and received a Business Degree. Louise was married to Walter Cunningham and to this union one daughter was born, Marsha Ann. Louise later attended Oklahoma School of Banking and was employed by the Bank of Vici. One evening, several friends were leaving to attend a Friday night dance in Woodward. Louise declined, after all she had missed four days of work from illness. The peer pressure got to her and she gave in. This decision would change her life. While at the dance, a pipefitter in town constructing the Terra Plant, winked at her and asked her to dance. Louise thought he was quite handsome. Louise and W. O. Davidson were married on August 28, 1979 in Richland, Washington! Louise and W.O. followed his work all over the country. At one time they owned three homes in the communities of West Richland, WA, Rockport, TX, and Vici, OK.

Louise worked at the Vici Coop and the Bank of Vici for many years. She enjoyed playing dominoes and cards. She never said no to a Sonic cheeseburger, onion rings, and diet Coke. There was only one car to drive: a Cadillac. She and W.O. enjoyed collecting coins and she was a lover of pets especially dogs and cats. She was an active member of the Vici Senior Citizens Center and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was a great supporter of the VFW and the Vici community.
