Bill Singhiser, 82 year old Woodward resident died Sunday, November 24, 2013 in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 27, 2013 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Gene Karne officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Billy Lee Singhiser was born on January 26, 1931 in Tonkawa, Oklahoma to Alex and Minnie (Longley) Singhiser. Bill attended a one room school in Catesby, Oklahoma for five years then he attended school in Shattuck. Bill was united in marriage to Goldie Kearns on December 22, 1951. Bill was inducted into the United States Air Force in 1951, serving his country during the Korean War and was Honorably discharged in 1955. Bill and Goldie were blessed with two children, Allen and Sherry. Bill worked at various jobs including a service station, and the Ford garage in Shattuck but was best known for the 38 years he spent working at Carls Machine Shop.
Bill loved his family and his dogs, Socks and Bernie. He enjoyed fixing things and he could take anything broken and put it back to together again. He loved telling and receiving jokes and sending funny emails to friends and family. He enjoyed going for coffee with his friends and breakfast with his son. Bill taught Socks to fetch his newspaper for him. He also enjoyed camping at Roman Nose State Park with family.
Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years Goldie of the home; son, Allen Singhiser and wife Pam of Woodward; daughter, Sherry Roberts of Perkins; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-gandchild; sister, Ann Williams of Oklahoma City ; several nieces, nephews other family members and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Lolia “Sing” Beavers, Leitta Winget; and one brother, Lawrence Singhiser.
