Woodward, Okla. —

Linda Dale Whetstone, 69 year old Woodward resident, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2013 with her son Dale and daughter-in-law Wendy, granddaughter Britny Whetstone and her fiancee Austin Whitworth and her granddaughter Makayla Hedges by her side. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Linda Dale (McCreary) Whetstone was born on August 13, 1943 in Palmetto, Florida to Gladys McCreary. She went to school to the 8th grade but had to drop out to go to work and help the family. She met Walter Whetstone in 1963 and they were married on March 30, 1965 in Guymon, Oklahoma. They were blessed with one son, Dale who was born on September 22, 1965 in Liberal, Kansas. That following February the family moved to Woodward where they made their home. Linda worked at Al’s Golden Chicken in the 1970's and the Fruit of the Loom Factory west of town. They moved to Nevada in 1986 and lived there until 2010. They moved back to Woodward and resided at the Country Aire RV Park.

Linda leaves behind her son Dale Whetstone, daughter-in-law Wendy; five grandchildren, Jeremy Whetstone and his partner Brandi Cupp, Krystel Partido and husband Tommy, Britny Whetstone and fiancee’ Austin Whitworth, Melissa Eagan and husband Drake, Makayla Hedges and fiancee Jarrod Grunke; six great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

She is loved dearly and will be greatly missed. She made a huge impact on all of our lives by showing us how to love through the best and worse of times.
