Leta Audrey Kerfoot Williams Maggard Beasley

Woodward, Okla. — Leta Audrey Kerfoot Williams Maggard Beasley, daughter of David and Ada (Hughes) Kerfoot was born in Aline, Oklahoma on May 1, 1918 and passed from this life in Ponca City, Oklahoma on April 27, 2013 at the age of 94. Leta was raised in Quinlan, Woodward, and Mooreland, Oklahoma. She attended school until the eighth grade and then later earned her GED.

Leta married Melvin Williams and four children were born to this union: Leon, LaMoine, Leonard and Dwayne. The family lived in many towns Caldwell, Kansas; Mooreland, Oklahoma; Quinlan, Oklahoma; Woodward, Oklahoma; and Clinton, Arkansas for the past 60 plus years before moving to Ponca City, Oklahoma. Leta married Lester Maggard and after his passing married Ike Beasley.

Leta was a member of the Quinlan Methodist Church and was baptized in her younger years. She also attended church at the First Baptist Church in Woodward, Oklahoma. She was a beauty shop manager and a homemaker. Leta loved to quilt in her spare time.

Leta was preceded in death by her parents, David and Ada Kerfoot, infant son, Dwayne Williams, son, Lamoine Williams, brothers, Virgil, David, Glen and Verle, sister Verda, two husbands Lester Maggard and Ike Beasley. Leta is survived by two sons Leon Williams and wife Delores of Montgomery, Texas and Leonard Williams and wife Lynda of Ponca City, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, other family and a host of friends.

Graveside services were held on Wednesday May 1, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at the Vassar Cemetery, Vici, Oklahoma. Condolences may be made to the family at
