Woodward, Okla. — Charlotte Freeman 80 year old Woodward resident died Friday, October 25, 2013 in Woodward.  Grave side funeral services will be held at 10:00 am  Monday, October 28, 2013 at the Elmwood Cemetery with Gordon Lawson officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.


Charlotte Fay (Edwards) Freeman was born on May 27, 1933 in Woodward, Oklahoma; she was the daughter of Vernie Martin “Brock” and Opal Fay (Carey) Edwards.  Charlotte spent her early years in the Woodward and Fort Supply area.  Charlotte graduated from Fort Supply High School with the class of 1951.  Charlotte then attended Licensed Practical Nursing program at the Woodward Hospital and received her certification two years later.  Charlotte was united in marriage to Wayne Freeman on October 30, 1955 in Charleston, South Carolina.  Charlotte and Wayne lived in several places throughout the U.S. while Wayne completed his career in the United States Air Force.  Charlotte and Wayne were blessed with three sons, Michael, Marlin and Mark.    While her boys were growing up Charlotte chose to be a stay at home Mom working on occasion in the Nursing field.  After retirement Charlotte and Wayne moved to Catoosa and returned to Woodward in 1993.


Charlotte is survived by her two sons, Mike Freeman and wife Nancy; Marlin Freeman all of Woodward; grandchildren, Jason McCarty and wife Crystal of Woodward; Jennifer Hedges and husband Ted of Mutual; Bridget Arnett of Providence, KY; Cindy Carter and husband Bryn of Blanchard; Viney Willis and wife Nichole of Moore; sister, Charlene Day of Woodward; brother, Verlin Edwards of Woodward; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.


She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne on March 17, 2004, son, Mark Dwayne  Freeman, and one brother, Vernie Edwards.
