Jo Ann Keltch

Woodward, Okla. — Jo Ann Keltch, 68 year old Sharon resident, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in the Woodward Regional Hospital.   Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 in the South Persimmon Baptist Church with the Reverend Jay Custar and the Reverend Eddie White officiating.  Burial will follow in the South Persimmon Cemetery under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.  Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday,  May 10, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.


Jo Ann (Gambill) Keltch was born on November 12, 1944 in Perry, Oklahoma to Lonnie Lester and Margaret Josephine (Folan) Gambill.  Jo Ann was reared in Perry and spent most of her childhood years there before her family moved to Liberal, Kansas.  She graduated from Liberal High School.  She attended college and graduated from Enid Business School.  Jo Ann was united in marriage to Thomas Grover Keltch on October 25, 1964 at the Crown Heights Baptist Church in Woodward, Oklahoma.  They made their first home in Woodward before moving to Sharon in 1971.  Jo Ann stayed at home with her children and raised them on the family farm.  She worked for Trego’s Western Wear Factory, Creative Circle Sewing Company, and she worked for 15 years at the Natural Resource Conservation Service before retiring.


Jo Ann was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vici.  She loved watching her grandchildren, church activities, and being with her family.


She is survived by her husband Tom Keltch of the home; one son, Charles Keltch and wife Reyna of Longdale; two daughters, Debra Keltch of Waynoka, Mary Jo Robertson and husband Rodney of Woodward; four grandchildren, Leslie Ann Chandler and husband Aaron, Jason Bence, Tawna Widney, Tammy Widney; one great-grandchild, Tatum Widney and Mila Rose Chandler who Leslie and Aaron are expecting in July; one brother Jerry “Buster” Gambill and wife Gaye of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one sister, Linda Haas and husband Harlie of Coldwater, Kansas; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Aletha Baker of Woodward, Jackie Hamill of Sharon, Shirley King and husband Floyd of Sharon, Bonnie Castor and husband Kenny of Woodward; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.


She was preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law, Leecy Keltch, father-in-law, Elmer “Jack” Keltch and her brother-in-law, Jim Hamill.


Memorial contributions may be made to the local Cystic Fibrosis Foundation with the funeral home accepting the contributions.

    Jerome Roscoe Dimmitt was born on May 14, 1958 to Loren & Merle (Foster) Dimmit at Sublette, Kansas the youngest of nine siblings.  The family made their home in Sublette, Kansas. Jerome graduated from Sublette High School with the class of 1976. After graduation he went to work for a custom cutter following the harvest and later in Garden City doing cement pouring and finishing. The bulk of his working years was spent in the oil field business working in at least three different states.

    Edith Ann Nichols, a former resident of Woodward, was born May 17, 1934 in Rives, TN. She died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at her home in Dyersburg, TN.

    She was a faithful Christian with ultimate faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, J.T. and Lorena Tubbs of Memphis, TN and a sister, Patsy Nell Tubbs.

  • Norman Vanderslice Norman Vanderslice

    The world lost a special person on Thursday, July 17, 2014. Norman Vanderslice was born on December 29, 1971 in Woodward, Oklahoma, to Ronnie and Norma (Semmel) Vanderslice.  He grew up on the family farm in Fargo, Oklahoma and graduated from Fargo High School in 1990.  Norman was a farmer who loved being outside. He took care of running the family farm his entire life. Norm loved coyote hunting with his friends and was known for always helping others. The greatest love of his life was his son, Colton, who he proudly raised. They lived on a farm west of Woodward.

Burial will follow at the Shirley Cemetery in Leedey under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
