Woodward, Okla. — Mary Overstreet Sell, 88 year old Woodward resident and former Enid resident, died Monday, January 7, 2013 in Woodward.  Services will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2013  at 10:00 a m in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel in Woodward with Deacon Phil Kenny officiating.   Private family burial will follow.

 

Mary Elizabeth (Overstreet) Sell was born on October 9, 1924 in New York, New York to Jesse Arthur and Elizabeth(Brady) Overstreet..   After graduating high school Mary went to college and received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing.  Mary served as a nurse in the United States Army and was stationed in Italy.  She was also a Registered Nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid and was the Administrator of an Enid Nursing Home.

 

On November 23,  1956, Mary was united in marriage with Freeman Sell in Clovis, New Mexico.

 

Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, her church activities, gardening and reading.

 

She is survived by niece, Brenda Bennie and husband Robert of Wappinger Falls, New York, niece, Nancy Huffman and husband Ted of Dobbs Ferry, New York, nephew, Bud Sell and wife Margaret of Mission, Texas, niece Ann Sell of Clarendon, Texas; many other great nieces and great-nephews, cousins and friends.

 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Freeman Sell in November of 2002, a sister Ann Cristello, and one brother Edward Overstreet.

 

Memorial contributions are to be made to St. Peter Catholic Church with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
