Woodward, Okla. — Marjorie L. Bryson, 83 year old Woodward resident, died Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in the Vici Nursing Home.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel  with the Reverend Don Whitman officiating.  Private interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.

 

Marjorie Lee (Rhoades) Bryson was born on November 15, 1929 in Pond Creek, Oklahoma to Charles Mitchell and Josephine Alice Lydia (Kemph) Rhoades. At a young age her family moved to Alva.  Marjorie graduated from Alva High School with the class of 1947.  She then attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University.  Marjorie was a stay at home mom while her girls were young.  She later worked for the Alva Police Department as Chief Dispatcher from 1967 to 1975.

 

Marjorie was united in marriage to Wilbur Dean Bryson on May 24, 1975 in Reno, Nevada  they made their home in Sunny Vale, California.  Marjorie and Dean  moved to Enid in 1990 and then to Woodward in 2003 and have remained here since.

 

Marjorie enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and building miniature doll houses.

 

Marjorie  is survived by her two daughters, Jackie Adams of Woodward, Tanya Burkhart and Dwight Keltner of Alva; grandchildren, Tyler Grunewald and wife Sara of Woodward, Cori Adams of Woodward, Liberty Burkhart of Canadian, Even Burkhart of Gatesville, Texas; great-grandchildren, Caden Grunewald, Sydney Trenary, Blake Burkhart, Kasi Burkhart, Rylie Pugh, Abigail Eller, Kyler Schnoebelen; great-great-grandson, Paxton Stewart; other relatives and many friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Wilbur Dean Bryson.
