Martha "Marty" Lee Ladd (Sheldon),

Woodward, Okla. — The funeral service for Martha "Marty" Lee Ladd (Sheldon), 79, of Enid will be 1:30 PM, Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in the Chapel at Waukomis Cemetery with Pastor David Jones officiating.  Burial will follow under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

She was born May 24, 1933 in Mooreland, OK to Worth and Martha (Jackson) Sheldon.  She is survived by her siblings Jack Sheldon and wife Ann of Tygh Valley, OR.  and Cissy Lapke of  Dallas, OR.  She is survived by her three children Steven Sheldon of Yakima, WA. Boston VanLandingham of Woodward, OK and Shannon (Foster) Perry and husband Trey of Drummond, OK.,  She will be especially missed by her grandchildren Sarah Beth, Madison, and Emily, and her four great grandchildren Shakea, Tony, Moet, and Kaitlyn along with many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.  And many friends!

She was preceded in death by her parents Worth and Martha who settled in Washington state, and her husband Marvin L. Ladd with whom she was married in 1976.  After starting Ladd Dozer Service they moved to Waukomis, OK. for several years and then moved to Washington state.

She and Marvin retired back to Woodward in 1999.

She spent a good deal of her growing years traveling with her parents and siblings during the dustbowl days going from Oklahoma to California to Washington State.  She especially enjoyed her days in the Yakima Valley of Washington State and graduated from White Swan High School in 1951.  Marty had many relatives in both Washington and Oklahoma and absolutely loved visiting with her family so both places were home.

Marty spent most of her adult working life in Woodward and has had many lifelong friends there.  She was known for her kindness, hard work, good cooking, and a smile for everyone!   She loved to dance, knit, crochet, sew, quilt, (anything relating to yarn or thread), gardening, reading, literature, word games (crosswords, scrabble, Yahtzee ect..) .  She carried with her a good sense of grace and humor which helped her stay strong.

Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice in lieu of flowers with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of funds.
