Audrey Charlotte (Ball) Crites

(Continued)

Woodward, Okla. —

Audrey got a lot of enjoyment teaching her children how to play in sports. Coached for the 10 year old Baseball Team which won State, and the team included her son, Junior along with two cousins, Wendell Eugene and LeRoy Churchill. Junior was the pitcher for the team and his Dad, Wilbur, always practiced catching for him. Audrey coached for her daughters, Janney Bewe and Jannette’s Softball Team which won Regionals. She was a Den Mother for Junior’s Cub Scouts. Both Audrey and Wilbur were involved in school activities wether it be driving a bus or being a chaperone. Wilbur built a full size basketball court in the backyard for his children. The neighbor, Jim Wyatt, built a baseball field in his back yard and the whole neighborhood used both the basketball court and the baseball field. Parents played the games with the children and had a lot of fun. She also liked to go fishing with family and friends.

Late in her life her greatest joy was seeing and playing with her puppies, Sweetpea, Angel Baby, Nick, Dusty and Mr. Peach, her big yellow cat.
