Jan R. Brown

Woodward, Okla. — Jan R. Brown passed from this earthly life to his eternal home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 20th, after a short illness. He was born on June 21, 1939 in El Reno OK. Jan and his wife of 56 years have enjoyed the last 20 years of semi-retirement in Hot Springs Village AR. Many great memories have been created for family and friends in this beautiful golfing community.

Jan retired from the oil and gas industry in 1991, after a thirty year career with Dowell – Schlumberger. Jan progressed from field service positions into various operations and marketing leadership positions, always exhibiting the qualities of a consummate professional.

Jan enjoyed his retirement years; spending time with Jean, traveling and attending various activities with his family and especially his grandchildren, working part-time at Diamante Country Club, and golfing with family and friends. All will miss Jan, but should be comforted in knowing he now resides with his Lord, and those that preceded him.

Jan was preceded in death by his parents; Orval and Jacquelyn Brown, his brother Robert D. Brown, and his grandson Tyler Milliken.

Jan leaves in their earthly homes his wife Jean (Hot Springs Village), son Robert Brown and wife Cindy (Moore OK), daughter Sheryl Milliken and husband Mark (Richmond TX), daughter Jana Goebel and husband Brad (Williston ND); grandchildren Preston Brown and wife Amber (Moore OK), Michael Milliken (Houston TX), and Lacey Chatten (Williston ND); and great grandchildren Haidyn, Prestley and Pierce (Moore OK); brother James Gaddy and family; and many other family and friends.

The family wishes to express our heart-felt thanks to the many that have supported us with prayer and other essentials during this time. Special recognition goes to the Diamante Country Club maintenance staff and to the caring doctors, nurses and employees at Mercy Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in Jan’s memory to Woodlands Presbyterian Church in Hot Springs Village AR, or to the Tyler Milliken Foundation in Richmond TX or at http://www.tylermillikenfoundation.org
