Howell "Will" Willingham

Woodward, Okla. — Howell “Will” Willingham, 74, of Hot Springs, died Thursday, May 16, 2013. He was born January 19, 1939 in Fort Payne, AL, the son of the late Hoke Smith Willingham and Jewell Manis of Dalton GA.



He will be remembered as a loving husband, a supportive father, and a generous man. He loved his little dog, Baby Belle and was often seen driving down the road with her in tow. Will served his country when he joined the Army in 1956. His duties included guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA as a member of the Military Police. Whether serving his country in the Army or operating a business, he always enjoyed spending time with family and friends, who enjoyed his sense of humor and his endless supply of stories.



Survivors include the love of his life Lynn Willingham, children Greg and Mary Willingham of Hot Springs, Kevin Willingham and Arlen Stewart of Salem, Ore., Alisa and Randy Nelson of Hot Springs, and Kimberly and Chris Roberts of Concord, NC.  He is also survived by three sisters, 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.



A memorial service will be held at 3 pm, Thursday May 23, 2013 at the Gross Funeral Home’s chapel in Hot Springs, AR. Will’s family will hold a grave-side service in Cedardale, Okla at a later date.
