Woodward, Okla. — Grace Rumley 95 year old Woodward resident formerly of Ft. Supply died Thursday March 14, 2013 in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday March 18, 2013 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jack Cornell and Reverend Ted Barker officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Ft. Supply, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held on Sunday March 17, 2013 from 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Billings Funeral Home.
Gracia Odella “Grace: Rumley was born on August 29, 1917 in Brush, Colorado the daughter of James Severe and Olive Vallee (Hair) Ragan. Grace came to Beaver County, Oklahoma with her parents and two brothers and three sisters in a covered wagon. She started school at Camp Creek School in Beaver, County and finished the eight grade at Logan, Oklahoma. Grace was united in marriage to Ben White in 1941 in Lamar, Colorado. To this union one son was born Benny Neil White on November 14, 1945. Benny was her pride and joy. Grace was then married to Charles Howard Rumley in 1955 in Laverne. They made their home in Ft. Supply. Grace began working at Western State Hospital in 1956 working there until her retirement in 1970. Grace lived at her home in Ft. Supply until her health forced her to move to Grace Living Center in Woodward in 2006 where she made many dear friends.
Grace loved her family and her home. She enjoyed working in her yard and garden with her beautiful flowers.
Grace dedicated her life and all she had to the Lord. She remained faithful to her beliefs. Grace believed God truly blessed her and her life. Grace mentioned her mother was her inspiration for leading a Godly life.
Grace has been a member of the Apostolic Faith Church since the age of 12.
She is survived by one sister, Maxine Haagenson and family of Albuquerque, NM; sisters-in-law, Cleo Ragan of Albuquerque, NM; Billie Ragan of Woodward; many loving nieces and nephews; special friends, Carol Johnston and family of Woodward; Lawrence and Karen Golden of Ft. Supply; many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, five sisters, Juanita, Charlotte, Eula, Lourena, and Betty, five brothers, Edward, John, Raymond, Neil and infant Alvin.
