Woodward, Okla. —
Stacy Dane Davis was born September 27, 1961 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Paul and Peggy Davis and went home to be with Jesus on March 6, 2014.
Stacy attended Laverne School and graduated in 1979. He attended one year at NWOSU in Alva studying criminal science but then decided to enter the work force with Northern Natural Gas Company. He worked as a natural gas plant operator his entire adult life. The last years were with ONEOK. Always a steady and faithful employee, Stacy could be counted on to be there regardless of the difficulty of changing shifts.
On July 16, 1983, Stacy was united in marriage to Susan Renee McAtee. Within a month, they set up household in Oklahoma City for Susan to attend dental school and they commuted on weekends for four years while Stacy supported her throughout.
Stacy began fatherhood in February of 1990 when Erica was born. He was a constant and devoted father. When Sean was born in 1997 and then Sarah came just 15 months later, his fathering skills were needed in a big way. He was more than up to the task. Though he always preferred to be in the background and behind the scenes, his strength was the backbone of the family.
Stacy’s children were his pride and joy and he attended all of their sporting events when work allowed, even acting as coach for Sean’s first weight lifting meet. He was even willing to get way out of his comfort zone to fly to Australia for Erica’s wedding because of his love for her.
Stacy grew up in the Laverne United Methodist Church and though private with his faith as was his way, he was a deeply spiritual man who loved God with all of his heart.
Stacy is survived by wife Susan and children Sean and Sarah of the home in Laverne, and Erica Lucha and husband Andres of Redding, California. Mother Peggy Davis, brother Casey Davis and wife Perri of Laverne and their children Ty Davis of Ruidoso, New Mexico, Justin Hewes of Laverne, and Jessica Scott and husband Michael, and children Audrey and Zachary of Enid, Oklahoma, and sister Tracee Davis and friend Donna Iarussi and niece Daisy of Ontario, California. As well as brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.
