Woodward, Okla. —
Freda Nadine Fowler, 81 year old Fargo resident died Saturday, March 8, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 12, 2014 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bob Nusser officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Freda Nadine Fowler was born on June 3, 1932 North of Selman, Oklahoma on the family farm to George Washington Nate and Alice Florence (Watts) Mayberry. Nadine was reared in Buffalo and attended Buffalo schools. Nadine was married to Lee Iril Smith and they made their home in Belvedere, Kansas. Lee preceded her in death on February 10, 1981. Nadine married Eddie Lee Fowler on January 20, 1987. They made their home in Woodward. Nadine worked at the Polyanna Café, and SCAT Communications as a dispatcher. Nadine then began traveling with Eddie across the United States for his work on various pipeline jobs. In 2004 Nadine and Eddie made their home in Fargo.
Nadine enjoyed painting, dancing, reading, and visiting with people. She never met a stranger.
She attended the Liberty Baptist Church in Fargo.
Nadine is survived by her husband Eddie of the home; nine children, Steven Lee Smith of Kansas; Colleen Shuck and husband Ricky of Chester; Earl Dean Smith and wife Rita of Cherokee; Shirley Jean Bichsel and husband Willie of Panhandle, Texas; Verne Roland Smith of Oklahoma City; Clara Alice Smith of Seiling; Delbert Len Fowler of Fargo; Bob Dee Fowler of La Junta, Colorado; Billy John Fowler and wife Kim of Alamosa, Colorado; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Zula Mae Brennon and husband Harold of Woodward; several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Nancy Jo; one sister, Thelma Pauline Nutter, daughter-in-law, Vickie Fowler; one brother Elmer Lee Mayberry; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
