John Arthur “Jack” Russell was born August 5th, 1937 to John and Bessie (Moss) Russell in Dill City, OK. He passed away on July 26, 2013 at age 75 in Woodward, Oklahoma.
Jack was reared in the Clinton, Oklahoma area and graduated from Clinton High School in 1955. Upon graduating Jack began his career with the Soil Conservation as a Core Driller. This job took him all over the state of Oklahoma. One of his jobs took him to Guthrie where he met and married Barbara Henke on January 26, 1959. Jack and Barbara along with their children moved to Woodward, Ok where he took a job in the Oilfield for Reed Rock Bits as a Sales Manager. As a result of his engaging personality, ability to sell, and overall love of cars he took a job as a car salesman for Lodes Ford which later sold to the McKay Family and is now known as McKay Ford. After many years as a car salesman for McKay Ford and a few other local car lots Jack retired to enjoy his greatest accomplishment, his kids and grandkids.
Jack had many hobbies including fishing, traveling, gardening and yard work. He was a sports fan and enjoyed watching all his kids and grandkids play ball. He and was an avid Oklahoma Sooner fan. Jack was very meticulous about his vehicles and taught his grandkids how to drive.
Survivors include his wife Barbara of the home; two sons Art Russell of Woodward; Monty Russell and wife Kelly of Woodward; two daughters Pamela Russell of Mooreland and Cindy Richey and husband Jimmy of Woodward; one brother Frank Russell and wife Ernestine of Cordell; one sister Roberta Leverton of Burns Flat; grandchildren, Jason Russell, Kyle Weese, Georgina Solis, Kendra Russell, Kory Weese, Dalton Russell, Ty Richey, Matthew Russell, Jessalynn Russell; great-grandchildren, Alexis Russell, Korbin Madsen, Elliott Weese, Melia Russell. Jack is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
