Kolby Bowers 18 year old Mooreland resident passed from this life on July 28, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, August 2, 2013 in the First Baptist Church of Woodward with Reverend Darren Mann officiating. Interment will follow in Mooreland Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Kolby James Bowers was born on June 11, 1995 to Tracy Lea (Holloway) Stine and James Leslie “Jimmy” Bowers in Woodward, Oklahoma. Kolby started kindergarten in Mooreland and transferred to Woodward High School his Junior year. While at Woodward he attended High Plains Technology Center studying Diesel Mechanics. While in school Kolby played Football, Basketball, and Baseball. He loved sports and being with his teammates and friends. He worked at the Cowboy Country Store helping out where he could for three years. Kolby recently started working for Diamond Construction, although he was new to the job, he enjoyed the work and looked forward to each day and he enjoyed his new co-workers.
Kolby and his best friend Levi enrolled in a Muay Thai School in Oklahoma City. While attending the school Kolby received the Student of the Day award several times and was very proud of that accomplishment. Kolby was always the person to stand up for the underdog when no one else would. He wanted his friends and family to never do without something they needed.
Kolby is survived by his mother , Tracy Stine and husband John of Mooreland; father, Jimmy Bowers and Monica Daniel of Woodward; siblings, Kyrstin Bowers of Tulsa; Shawna Jo Stine of Edmond; Neta Copenhaver and husband John of Mooreland; John Stine II of Mooreland; girlfriend of three years; Madison Lawson of Mooreland; maternal grandmother, Joan Holloway of Mooreland; paternal grandmother, Betty Bowers of Woodward; several aunts, uncles, cousins, other family and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Gene Holloway; and paternal grandfather, Kenny Bowers.
