Woodward, Okla. — Robert Whitbeck, 64 year old Woodward resident, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013 in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2013 at the First Christian Church in Woodward. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Billings Funeral Home.
Robert Dale Whitbeck was born March 1, 1949 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Frank and Amy (Thomas) Whitbeck. Robert was reared around the Woodward area graduating from Woodward High School in 1967. Robert went on to attend Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva. On June 12, 1970, Robert was united in marriage to Colleen Smith in Woodward. To this union they were blessed with three daughters, Amy Joleen, Justina Dale, and Julie Ann. He was a self employed rancher and truck driver. His special interests included ranching, dancing and spending time with his friends and family.
Robert is survived by his three daughters, Amy Joleen Whitbeck and friend Brad Lambeth of Clinton; Justina Dale Fitzgerald and husband Mike of Oklahoma City; Julie Ann Louthan and husband Chad of Seiling; two brothers Thomas Whitbeck and wife Beatrice of Wichita, Kansas; Jimmy Whitbeck of Valley Center, Kansas; half brother William"Billy" Whitbeck; step-mother Josephine Whitbeck; ex son-in- law, Kelly Tuxhorn; eight grandchildren, Clancey Austen and Chance Dawsen Louthan, Katelyn Alise, Addisyn Claire and Declan Michael Fitzgerald, Grafton Kennt, Jordan Rose and Peyton Danea Lambeth; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He is also survived by his faithful dog, Jill.
He was preceded in death by his parents;one brother Gary Whitbeck and a granddaughter Abigail Mae Fitzgerald.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church in Woodward or the Woodward Animal Shelter with the funeral home accepting contributions.
