Craig “Pepe” Lockwood

Woodward, Okla. —

Craig “Pepe” Lockwood, 67 year old Mooreland resident, died Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at his home in Mooreland. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 8, 2014 in the Mooreland First United Methodist Church with Reverend Larry Masoner officiating. Interment will follow in the Mooreland Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the United States Army. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 8:00 p.m on Friday, February 7, 2014 at the Billings Funeral Home of Woodward.

Craig Neil Lockwood was born on January 18, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan to Tom Reginald and Margaret Joan (Kay) Lockwood. When Craig was six months old his family moved to Mooreland. Pepe attended Mooreland schools and graduated from Mooreland High School with the class of 1965. He attended college at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva. During his first year of college he was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Pepe served his country overseas in Germany and was Honorably Discharged and returned to Mooreland. Pepe then completed his Bachelors Degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

He was united in marriage to Molly Holloway on December 28, 1979 in Woodward, Oklahoma. They made their home in Mooreland and have lived there since that time. To this union two sons were born Kaleb and Gardner. Pepe worked for various local companies before going to work for Western Farmers Electric. He continued working there until his retirement after 20 plus years of service.

Pepe enjoyed fishing, woodworking, playing golf and especially spending time with family and friends. His all time favorite pastime was just being Pepe, giving his family and friends a hard time.

He is survived by his wife Molly Lockwood of Mooreland; two sons, Kaleb Lockwood of Yukon; Gardner Lockwood and wife Tabetha of Chickasha; sister, Lori Patton and husband J.C. of Woodward; grandchildren, Finley and Addisyn Lockwood of Chickasha; father and mother-in-law, Meryle Kahoe and husband Jim; Marion Holloway and wife Maebeth all of Mooreland; sisters and brothers-in-law, Michelle Farrow and husband Devin; Mike Holloway and wife Denise all of Mooreland; Katy Wanger and husband Donald of Ft. Supply; several nieces, nephews other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Joan Lockwood.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Diabetes Research with the funeral home accepting the contributions.

    Jerome Roscoe Dimmitt was born on May 14, 1958 to Loren & Merle (Foster) Dimmit at Sublette, Kansas the youngest of nine siblings.  The family made their home in Sublette, Kansas. Jerome graduated from Sublette High School with the class of 1976. After graduation he went to work for a custom cutter following the harvest and later in Garden City doing cement pouring and finishing. The bulk of his working years was spent in the oil field business working in at least three different states.

    Edith Ann Nichols, a former resident of Woodward, was born May 17, 1934 in Rives, TN. She died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at her home in Dyersburg, TN.

    She was a faithful Christian with ultimate faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, J.T. and Lorena Tubbs of Memphis, TN and a sister, Patsy Nell Tubbs.

  • Norman Vanderslice Norman Vanderslice

    The world lost a special person on Thursday, July 17, 2014. Norman Vanderslice was born on December 29, 1971 in Woodward, Oklahoma, to Ronnie and Norma (Semmel) Vanderslice.  He grew up on the family farm in Fargo, Oklahoma and graduated from Fargo High School in 1990.  Norman was a farmer who loved being outside. He took care of running the family farm his entire life. Norm loved coyote hunting with his friends and was known for always helping others. The greatest love of his life was his son, Colton, who he proudly raised. They lived on a farm west of Woodward.

    Clarence “Melvin” Wilson, 95 year old, True Woodward Cowboy, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at his home.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014 at the Bible Baptist Church with the Reverend Jesse Johnson and Jerry Nine officiating. Burial will follow at the Shirley Cemetery in Leedey under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
