Woodward, Okla. — Alan R. Stephenson, 59 year old Woodward resident, died Thursday, January 23, 2014 at his home in Woodward.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 27, 2014 at the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Bob Nusser officiating.  Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.


Alan Ray Stephenson was born on May 7, 1954 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Harold Ray and Betty Ruth (Blackburn) Stephenson.  He grew up in Holdenville and attended school in Woodward, graduating with the class of 1972.


He was united in marriage with Connie Miller on October, 2 1993 in Woodward.   They have made their home in Woodward since that time.  Alan enjoyed many things, including hunting,  fishing, watching sports, and yardwork.  He loved spending time with his family and they will miss him dearly.  Alan was known around the neighborhood as the “Mole Hunter.”


Alan was a member of the First Baptist Church.  He worked in the Oil and Gas industry for most of his life. His duties ranged in many areas.


He is survived by his wife Connie Stephenson of Woodward; one daughter Brooke Robertson and husband Strett of Oklahoma City; two step-sons Troy Smith of Yukon;  Eric Smith and wife Donna of Edmond; his mother Betty Stephenson of Woodward; one brother Keith Stephenson and wife Susan of Woodward; one sister Linda Trissel and husband Marlin of Stillwater; one aunt Lavon Stephenson of Arlington, Texas; twin grandsons Caymon and Paden Robertson of Oklahoma City and one step-grandson Wyatt Smith of Yukon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.


Alan was preceded in death by his dad, Harold Ray “Steve” Stephenson.


Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospital Sisters of Charity with contributions being accepted by the funeral home.
