Woodward, Okla. —

James Colvard, 59 year old Woodward resident, died Monday, May 26, 2014 at his home. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, May 31, 2014 at his home in Woodward. Cremation services were under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

James Leroy Colvard was born May 17, 1955; he was the son of Alfred Leroy and Bonnie Colleen (Cronnin) Colvard. James was the definition of an oily. He lived to work and he worked for his family. James put close to 40 years in the oil patch and spent most of that time working for Unit Drilling formerly Hickman Drilling. James was a well trusted man and a very hard worker. He loved having a good time with good friends, cooking out for the OU football games. He tried to be the best man/father and husband he could be. James will be very missed by those who knew him but his spirit will live on. We love you, James.

James is survived by three sons, Justin Colvard; John Pierce and Cody Colvard all of Woodward; one daughter, Kacie Calvard of Whitefield, Oklahoma; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brother, Michael Colvard of Longdale; sisters Stacey Turner and husband Kevin; Thressia Frally and husband Irvin of Porum; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Leroy Colvard; his mother Bonnie Latham; his wife Gayla Sue Colvard whom I am sure he is kissing on now. She was his rock.
