Alice M. Ishmael, 73 year old Woodward resident, died Monday, May 20, 2013 in Woodward. Graveside memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the Laverne Cemetery.
Alice Marie (DeSpain) Ishmael was born August 27, 1939 in Shattuck, Oklahoma; she was the daughter of Clifford and Lela Jane (Morris) DeSpain. Alice grew up in Laverne, attended Laverne schools and graduated from Laverne High School. In December of 1951, she was married to Bob Harmon. To this union two sons were born, Gary and Jerry. In January of 1983, Alice was married to Stanley Ishmael. She worked at the Pollyanna Cafe for over 30 years and was thought of as a permanent fixture at the restaurant.
Alice was a member of the First Baptist Church in Woodward. She loved her children and grandchildren and the customers of the Pollyanna. Alice liked to bowl and do word search puzzles and collecting knickknacks and pens.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Harmon and wife Paula of Woodward; Gary Harmon of Gardnerville, Nevada; 13 grandchildren, Chad and Jamie Harmon, Hadlee Harmon, Brian Luckett, Blake Luckett, Kim and Chris Long all of Woodward; Jessica Harmon, Cory Harmon, Cody and Shauna Harmon, Dallas Harmon, Jerad Harmon all from Nevada; 13 great grandchildren, Madison Harmon, Hailey Harmon, Lily Luckett, Ava, Ace and Abe Long all of Woodward, Robert and Nathan Hall, Dakota Harmon, Brady Harmon, Austin Harmon, Shianne Harmon, Mason Harmon all of Nevada; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Lela DeSpain, an infant son and her spouse, Stanley Ishmael.
