Woodward, Okla. —
Mildred Watkins, 97 year old Woodward resident, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014 in the Grace Living Center. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Fargo Cemetery with Gene Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mildred Marie (Hull) Watkins was born on July 4, 1916 in Columbia, Missouri to Bert and Bessie (Young) Hull. The family came to Oklahoma when Mildred was a young girl. She attended school in Fargo. Mildred was united in marriage to Clinton Hardesty on December 24, 1938 in Ellis County. They were blessed with one child, Albert Clinton Hardesty who died on July 28, 1940 at six months of age. Clinton preceded her in death on October 25, 1958.
Mildred married Thurman Watkins on June 21, 1960 in Ellis County. They made their home in Ellis County. He preceded her in death on October 18, 2002.
Mildred had many hobbies that included sewing and cooking. She also enjoyed gardening and playing cards.
Mildred is survived by three great nephews Mark Reynolds, Matthew Reynolds, Andrew Reynolds all of Texas; special friends Donna Howard and husband Randy of Fargo; and Kerry Mitchell and wife Walnetta of Buffalo; other relatives and friends.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one son and one sister.
The family would like to thank Grace Living Center and Faith Hospice for their care of Mildred during her time there.
