Ann Williams

Woodward, Okla. —

Ann Williams, beloved mother and grandmother, was called to be with the Lord on January 14, 2014 at the age of 90. She was born August 22, 1923 in Tonkawa, Oklahoma to her parents, Alex and Minnie (Longley) Singhiser. After graduating from High School, Ann married her sweetheart, Forest Williams on November 16, 1946. This union of marriage was blessed with three children, Pepper, Chili and Candy and they celebrated 34 years of marriage before his passing in September of 1981. For nearly 25 years, Ann owned and operated Ann’s Nutrition Center in Woodward, Oklahoma. While residing in Woodward, Oklahoma, Ann enjoyed being involved with the Woodward Community Theater and the Red Hat Society. After moving to Oklahoma City in June 2005, to be near her children, Ann was an active member of Southern Hills Baptist Church where she enjoyed attending the Encouragers Sunday School Class. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Forest Williams; brothers, Lawrence Singhiser and Bill Singhiser; and sisters, Sing Bevers and Leitta Winget. Ann leaves cherished memories with her loving son, Pepper Wayne Williams and his wife, Judy; daughter, Chili Williams; daughter, Candy Arnold and her husband, Michael; 7 grandchildren: Brandon Williams and his wife Lara, Dr. Lance Williams and his wife Sherry, Brandi Golub and her husband Dr. Ryan, Misty Lack, Ashly Lewis, Bryce Lack, and Carrissa Mays and her husband Kenny; 10 great grandchildren: Taylor Lewis, Sara Lewis, Griffin Williams, Libby Williams, Garrison Williams, Austen Williams, Alexis Hyatt, Raquelle Moore, Jordyn Golub, and Landon Golub; and many other loving family and friends. Viewing will be 4-8 PM Thursday at Vondel Smith Mortuary, S. Lakes with the family greeting friends from 6-8 PM. Services to celebrate her life will be 10:00 AM Fri., Jan 17, 2014 at Southern Hills Baptist Church, 8601 S. Penn. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 PM at the Elmwood Cemetery in Woodward, OK. Memorial donations may be made to the Southern Hill Baptist Church Encouragers Class Food Pantry. Friends may leave condolences for the family at www.vondelsmithmortuary.com

    Jerome Roscoe Dimmitt was born on May 14, 1958 to Loren & Merle (Foster) Dimmit at Sublette, Kansas the youngest of nine siblings.  The family made their home in Sublette, Kansas. Jerome graduated from Sublette High School with the class of 1976. After graduation he went to work for a custom cutter following the harvest and later in Garden City doing cement pouring and finishing. The bulk of his working years was spent in the oil field business working in at least three different states.

    Dudley Blaylock was born January 29, 1945 in Higgins, Texas to Edith May and Dudley Jasper Blaylock.  He passed away July 16, 2014 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years, 5 months and 17 days.

  • Edith Ann Nichols

    Edith Ann Nichols, a former resident of Woodward, was born May 17, 1934 in Rives, TN. She died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at her home in Dyersburg, TN.

    She was a faithful Christian with ultimate faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, J.T. and Lorena Tubbs of Memphis, TN and a sister, Patsy Nell Tubbs.

    Susie Louise McNeill of Vici went to be with her Lord on July 16, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Susie was born March 17, 1940 to Johnnie Lee (Jackson) and Thurman Wall in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

  • Norman Vanderslice Norman Vanderslice

    The world lost a special person on Thursday, July 17, 2014. Norman Vanderslice was born on December 29, 1971 in Woodward, Oklahoma, to Ronnie and Norma (Semmel) Vanderslice.  He grew up on the family farm in Fargo, Oklahoma and graduated from Fargo High School in 1990.  Norman was a farmer who loved being outside. He took care of running the family farm his entire life. Norm loved coyote hunting with his friends and was known for always helping others. The greatest love of his life was his son, Colton, who he proudly raised. They lived on a farm west of Woodward.

    Clarence “Melvin” Wilson, 95 year old, True Woodward Cowboy, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at his home.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014 at the Bible Baptist Church with the Reverend Jesse Johnson and Jerry Nine officiating. Burial will follow at the Shirley Cemetery in Leedey under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

    Ival Lee Miller, Camargo, Oklahoma resident, died on July 8, 2014, at the Seiling Hospital at the age of 93 years, 1 month and 27 days. Ival was born May 11, 1921, at Dr Harris’ office in Camargo, to Maurice Denton and Leota Myrle (Wing) Miller.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2014 at the Rock Church Cemetery, northwest of Woodward.  Military rites will be conducted by the United States Army. Burial will follow with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
