Woodward, Okla. —

Daniel Richard Stufflebean, 56 year old resident of Mooreland, Oklahoma, passed from this life on May 22, 2014 in Oklahoma City. He was born February 5, 1958, to Ralph and Bertha (Loomis) Stufflebean in Woodward, Oklahoma. All of his schooling years were at Woodward Public Schools. Dan attended the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond from 1989 to 1992 receiving a Bachelors of Science Degree. After graduating college, he worked as a Chemist.


Dan was baptized as a child in the St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Woodward. In 1985 Dan met the love of his life, Shiela Hammond in Woodward, Oklahoma. There were four children between the two of them: three sons Matt Stufflebean, Jared Wait and Brandon Wait, and one daughter Opal Mines. The family lived in Woodward, Oklahoma from 1985 to 1987 and in 1987 moved to Edmond, Oklahoma until he moved to his current residence in Mooreland, Oklahoma in 2007.


Dan enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family, but most of all he loved spending time with Shiela.


Dan was preceded in death by his father Ralph, brother Tom Stufflebean, niece Emily Clark and step-son Brandon Wait.


He is survived by wife Shiela of the home; mother Bertha Lockhart of Woodward, Oklahoma; son Matt Stufflebean of Lawton, Oklahoma; four brothers Wayne and Greg Stufflebean of Woodward, Oklahoma, Phil Stufflebean of Burrton, Kansas and Joe Stufflebean of Wyandotte, Oklahoma; four sisters Alice Manning of Bentonville, Arkansas, Joyce Higgins of Fairland, Oklahoma, Rita Thompson of Wyandotte, Oklahoma and Carol Reser of Newton, Kansas; one step-son Jared Wait of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one step-daughter Opal Mines of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; six nieces, fifteen nephews and a host of family and friends.


Memorial services will be held on Saturday May 31, 2014 at 3:00 pm at the Elmwood Cemetery, Woodward, Oklahoma. Condolences may be made to the family and Memorial Tribute viewed at Shaw Funeral Home of Vici
