Woodward, Okla. —
Betty M. Ball, 69 year old Mooreland resident, died Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the Grace Living Center in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2013 in the First Baptist Church of Mooreland. Visitation will be held at the funeral home in Woodward on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Betty Marie (Minnick) Ball was born on August 3, 1944 to Coralee (Drake) Minnick and Leslie Leo Minnick in Shattuck, Oklahoma. Betty attended the Fargo schools and graduated from Fargo High School in 1962. She worked for Tregos Western Wear for a period of time.
She was united in marriage to Roy Ball on November 25, 1967 at the United Methodist Church of Fargo. They were blessed with two children, Lynda and Brenda.
Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mooreland, where she enjoyed volunteering in the nursery. She was very active in the Rebekah and Odd Fellows Lodge as well as the Work N Play Club, where she held many different positions and where she had won many awards. Betty spent most of her time being a homemaker and helping Roy out on the farm. She loved spending time with friends and family, canning, sewing, and making crafts.
She is survived by her husband Roy Ball of the home; two daughters, Lynda Ball of Mooreland; Brenda Swearingen and husband Robert of Chantilly, Virginia; two grandchildren, Hunter Swearingen and Lane Swearingen; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Coralee Minnick and one brother Dale Minnick.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mooreland Work and Play Club with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
