Terry N. Latta, 67 year old Woodward resident, died Sunday, September 15, 2013 at his home south of Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Gene Karn officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Terry Noel Latta was born on March 13, 1946 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Noel and Ella (Bostwick) Latta. Terry was reared on the family farm 13 miles north of Gage with his four brothers and one sister. He attended Gage schools and graduated from Gage High School in 1964. He lived, farmed and ranched in the same area of the family farm until 1978 when he moved in to Woodward. Terry has been farming and raising cattle since 1966. He owned and operated his own trucking and dirt construction company until his retirement in 2003.
Terry was united in marriage to Jeannine L. Jackson on June 30, 2001 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They made their home in Woodward and have lived here since that time.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Terry loved traveling with his wife, spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed shooting pool, helping the Woodward Moose Lodge of where he was a long time member and going to the casino.
He is survived by his wife Jeannine Latta of the home; daughter, Sherri Latta of Tulsa; two sons, Linc Latta of Oklahoma City, Lance Latta and wife Kristi of Moore; two step-sons, Curtis Henexson of Camargo, Brian Henexson and wife Amanda of Kingsland, Georgia; two brothers, Don Latta and wife Barbara of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Jack Latta and wife Kay of Hot Springs, Arkansas; one sister, Nola Latta Wilson of Mesa, Arizona; five grandchildren, Kerri, Kaleb, Sidnee, Rhilee, and Savanna; Aunt Betty Latta of Woodward; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Norma Jackson of Largo, Florida; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Nita and Rich Christensen of West Salem, Ohio, Nancy Munka of Akron, Ohio, Chuck and Barb Jackson of Brunswick, Ohio; numerous other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noel and Ella Latta, two brothers, Wayne and James Latta and his brother-in-law, Bill Wilson.
