Timy Annette (Ann) Dycus Ford

Woodward, Okla. —

Timy Annette (Ann) Dycus Ford was born on October 13, 1923 to Charles Toliver and Fannie White Dycus in Farwell, Texas. Ann Ford always excelled in school and was named Valedictorian of the 1940 Farwell graduating class. As part of her educational accomplishments she was named the Outstanding Farwell Student and her name was placed on a Loving Cup which is still on display to this day. After graduation she continued her education at Wayland Baptist College in Plainview, TX and later at West Texas State College at Canyon, Texas. She was baptized at an early age and was a member of the Farwell Baptist Church. Ann met R.A. Ford, Sr. while working as a bookkeeper at the W.C. Roberts Seed Company in Texico, New Mexico. They were married on August 15, 1943, and three children were born to this union; daughter, Elizabeth Ann, still born May 10, 1944, son Rodney A. (Rod) Ford, Jr. born April 29, 1945 (both in Clovis, N.M), and Robert Lee Ford, born November 2, 1962 at Woodward, OK. Bookkeeping was an important part of Ann Ford’s life. She spent several years doing book work for Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch in Amarillo, Texas and continued to staunchly support his efforts at the Boys Ranch her entire life. Ann was employed as bookkeeper for the Canadian Grain Co-Op where R.A. was manager from 1948 to 1952. In 1953 she and R.A. bought a small elevator and founded the R.A. Ford & Son Roller Feed Mill in Gage where she worked for over 50 years. A very civic minded person, Ann was a member of the Gage Chamber of Commerce, the Gage Research Club, the order of the Eastern Star and the Gage American Legion Auxiliary. However, Ann’s greatest pleasure came from her family, friends, and especially her grand and great-grand children. The matriarch of a small yet very loving family, Granny Annie’s reach extended beyond her immediate family to the far reaches of all corners of Gage, and her never-ending love for life and her fellow humans was an example for all to follow. Everyone who has ever met and spent any time with Ann Ford knows the bright smile that she always had, and her heart felt love that was essentially boundless. Everyone who came to Ann’s house always left calling her Grandma Ann – a true testament to her love, openness to all, willingness to serve her fellow mankind, her God, and genuine concern for others before herself. Ann always brought out the best in everyone she met, and never asked for anything in return. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers (Ralph, Johnnie, Toliver, Connell, Andy, Bernold) two sisters (Mildred, and Lois) and loving husband Rodney A. Ford Sr. She is survived by her sons Rod and wife Lois of Gage, and Robert Lee and special friend Laura Withers of Ridgway, Colorado; grandsons Stephen and wife Tiffani, Jimi and wife Mickey, Markus, and granddaughter Rachel; great grand children, Shaina, Taylor, Katharine, Rodney A. (Alex) Ford III, Nicholas, Ava and Bobby and Clarissa Farrow. She is also survived by one brother Julius (Bulger) and his wife Sylvia of Arlington Heights, Washington, as well as a host of friends – all of whom have been profoundly impacted by having known a Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, and true friend.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, December 28, 2013 in the First Christian Church, Gage, Oklahoma with burial following in Gage Memorial Cemetery,. Services arranged by Shaw Funeral Home, Shattuck, Oklahoma. Condolences may be made to the family and Memorial Tribute viewed at shawfuneralhome.net
