Voters approve half-cent sales tax

Woodward, Okla. — Woodward County voters solidly passed a half-cent sales tax Tuesday night to fund improvements at the Woodward County Fairgrounds.

The improvements include a 60,000 square foot multi-event center as well as improvements to some of the existing facilities at the fairgrounds.

The measure passed 858 to 580 or 59.67 percent in favor to 40.33 percent against.

Woodward County Fairgrounds is home to several major events each year including the county fair, several trade shows and meetings and the 10-county Woodward District Livestock Show.
