Woodward, Okla. —
The city continues to move forward with plans to widen 34th Street between Oklahoma Avenue and Hanks Trail.
During their upcoming meeting at 7 p.m. Monday in City Hall, Woodward City Commissioners are slated to consider a contract with the engineering firm Garver, LLC to provide engineering and surveying services related to the 34th St. project.
According to the proposed contract, the city will pay Garver a lump sum of $105,700 to perform a traffic study, a preliminary engineering study and design and property surveys. Garver will have 60 days to complete the traffic study and surveys and then an additional 45 days to complete the preliminary engineering study.
The current proposed contract does not include project design services, but notes that design may be added by a future contract amendment with additional payment to be determined.
In other business Monday, city commissioners are slated to:
• hold a public hearing and then vote on a request to rezone the north 400 block of Oklahoma Ave. from R-2 General Residential District to C-2 General Commercial District to allow Woodward Auto-Mart to extend its parking space for its vehicle inventory;
• consider a revision to the city's "Parks" ordinances to eliminate fees for trout permits for fishing at Crystal Beach Lake based on a recommendation from the Parks and Beautification Board; and
• hold an executive session and then vote on the purchase of real property. The location of the property that commissioners are slated to vote on is not listed on the agenda or in the agenda packet provided to The News.
