City meeting set Monday

Woodward News

Woodward, Okla. — A relatively short agenda will face Woodward City Commissioners at their regular meeting Monday.

Only a few action topics are on the agenda and one of those is a second reading of a rezoning from the last meeting. The request is to rezone a tract of land in the College Addition between 11th and 12th Streets and Oak and Maple Avenue from restricted manufacturing and warehouse district and general industrial district to general residential district.

Approval will allow for residential multi-family housing on the land.

According to the information packet a second reading is necessary because an emergency clause wasn’t attached on the initial reading

Commissioners are also scheduled to assign the transfer of the natural gas franchise from ONG Company to ONE Gas, Inc., a stand alone company set up earlier this year by ONEOK to handle natural gas distribution.

Also on the agenda is an agreement with Pioneer Telephone Cooperative for managed network service and equipment lease. The city is in the process of updating its server and also wants to outsource management of the system through Pioneer.

Another agenda item is a 6-month renewal of a lease with UNIVAR USA, Inc. for property adjacent to a railroad spur. The company will continue to pay $200 a month.

The commission meets at 7 p.m. in the commission room at city hall.
