Pageants set for Sunday

Woodward, Okla. — Young women from around the state will take the stage in Woodward this weekend to compete for a chance to go on to the Miss Oklahoma pageant next summer.

It is all part of the annual Miss Northwest Passage and Miss Northwest Passage Outstanding Teen Pageants, which will be held at 4 p.m. this Sunday at the Woodward Arts Theater.

Pageant Co-Director Carolyn Ames said there are 11 women and 7 teens signed up to compete in this year's show.

Ames said the 18 contestants will each compete in 4 areas: interview, physical fitness, modeling and talent.

"Then we will choose a winner of the Miss and the teen titles and they will go on to compete in Miss Oklahoma in June," she said.

In addition to the talent performances of the contestants, Ames said the winners of the younger girls' Miss Northwest Pageant that was held on Sept. 16 will also perform their talents as entertainment during the show.


The following are the 11 Miss Northwest Passage contestants, including their ages, hometowns and talents:

• Tessica Carter, 22, Tulsa, vocal solo

• Ashley Wheeler, 20, Altus, vocal solo

• Aalyiah Gilbert, 18, Oklahoma City, dance solo

• Morgan Gover, 18, Altus, dance solo

• Audrey Linholm, 20, Bixby, instrumental solo

• Beth Braddock, 17, Altus, dance solo

• Chelsay Adams, 20, Woodward, vocal solo

• Madison Russell, 19, Hennessey, piano/vocal solo

• Stacey Stevens, 21, Perry, dance solo

• Ashlee Shryock, 18, Shattuck, vocal solo

• Bailey Chambers, 18, Broken Arrow, vocal solo

The following are the 7 Miss Northwest Passage Outstanding Teen contestants, including their ages, hometowns and talents:

• Sydni Classen, 13, Enid, dance and vocal solo

• Molly Little, 13, Altus, dance solo

• Andrae Cook, 14, Weatherford, tap dance

• Devre Newby, 15, Woodward, dance solo
