Woodward, Okla. —
A Woodward woman was hospitalized after a one-vehicle accident in Harper County Saturday night.
Valerie Covalt, 51, was taken to Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City and admitted with back and head injuries. She is in stable condition, said the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
According to the OHP report, Covalt was northbound in her Toyota on State Highway 34 some 28 miles north of Woodward when she reached for a cell phone on the floor of the passenger side. The report said the vehicle then drifted right, overcorrected to the left and went off the road into a broadside and rolled one time.
Covalt was wearing a seatbelt the OHP said.
The accident happened about 7:15 p.m. on Saturday.
