Woodward, Okla. — OnStage Woodward will be offering two lucky winners a chance to fly around the stage of their upcoming play The Wizard of Oz during their "Fly Over the Rainbow" benefit.

"When we first started, we didn't realize how difficult it would be to make our characters fly. We finally got in contact with a group, ZFX Flying out of Louisville Kentucky, whose sole business is flying. They've worked on everything from small scale local productions to Broadway," said Kenton Baird with OnStage Woodward.

Baird said the flying equipment was a must for the level of showmanship and professionalism OnStage Woodward's production of The Wizard of Oz is promising, and as an added bonus they will be allowing two people an opportunity to fly around the stage like Glinda the Good Witch or a Flying Monkey.

For an opportunity to go soaring through the air with the greatest of ease, Baird said raffle tickets can be purchased from any OnStage Board Member, or by calling 334-3048. Proceeds from ticket sales will go towards the production of The Wizard of Oz as well as funding the elaborate special effects of the show.

Baird said there are a few restrictions. Winners must weight less than 175 lbs and be in good physical condition to use the equipment. The flight will last 2 to 3 minutes.

The flight will take place the evening of March 30. People can also see the Wizard of Oz play on April 11-14 and April 18-21. Tickets for the play are currently on sale and can be purchased by calling 334-3048.
