Farm Expo opens Friday

Woodward, Okla. — K101's 29th annual Farm Expo will be taking place this Friday (March 22) through Sunday March 24) at the Woodward County Fairgrounds.

Show Director Shawn Miller explained this year's show, like previous years, will feature a wide variety of products.

"There will be a lot of ag related exhibits as well as home improvement exhibits. There's also retail, clothing, arts and crafts including painting, furniture, and jewelry, along with automobiles, ATVs, motorcycles, pools and spas," Miller said.

Exhibitors from around the country will be at the Expo displaying their wares, he said.  Some vendors will be coming from as far away as Michigan, he said.

"A lot of these guys take their products and tour the country," Miller said. "They start here at the spring Expo, go around the country, and end up back here again at the fall Expo."

Miller explained this year will be particularly full as all the available vendor spaces have been sold out with over 170 exhibitors attending.

"We've got 3 full buildings," he said.  "And I'd like to stress for everyone to go through all the buildings or they're going to miss some really great stuff."

The Farm Expo will offer something for all ages, including activities for children such as a laser shot hunting video game, helicopter rides, rock wall, inflatable slide and bouncy house, and a mechanical bull.

Miller said some of the outside games and attractions are subject to change based on the weather this weekend.  But regardless of the weather, he said folks should still be sure to come out and enjoy the indoor exhibits.

"Some of our best shows have been during bad weather," he said. "When people are stuck indoors with nothing to do, they all come out here."

The Expo will also feature its usual assortment of delicacies including barbecue, corn dogs, Polish brauts, steak sandwiches and funnel cakes.

With an average between 23,000 and 25,000 attendees, the Expo stands to be quite the event.

"The best reason to come out is to see all the unique items and products you won't see anywhere else," Miller said. "We've got it all."

As always the event is free and open to the public. Event times are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
