School board to hit on key items

Woodward, Okla. — Woodward Board of Education members will cover several major items at their monthly meeting Monday.

The meeting is at 6 p.m. in the school administration building.

Among other things board members will discuss and possibly vote on the $5,000 National Board Certified (teachers) stipends for the 2013-2014 school year, and whether to take part in the Oklahoma Education Coalition rally at the state Capitol on March 31.

Also on the agenda is a resolution to set a date, time and place for the sale of $3.6 million in general obligation bonds approved by the voters last October.

The board will also hold its annual reorganization, selecting a president and vice-president,

In an executive session, board members will discuss some hires and will also hold their annual performance review of Superintendent Tim Merchant.

Early in the meeting the board will recognize the 2014 Teacher of the Year nominees and the 2014 Student Citizens of the Year.

The consent agenda includes a number of routine items along with approval of a third school resource officer for the remainder of the current school year.
