Woodward, Okla. — Woodward County Commissioners are slated to address a road construction matter during their regular meeting Monday.

The commissioners will meet at 10 a.m. in the Woodward County Courthouse.

The county board will address a right-of-way, public utility and encroachment agreement with the Department of Transportation related to a project along County Road N/S 221 near Quinlan.

According to Wendy Dunlap with the County Clerk's Office, the project is for roadway improvements along N/S 221 between Highway 412 an the town of Quinlan.

In other business, the county commissioners are slated to address 2 contracts for services for the County Assessor's Office.

The first contract is between the Assessor's Office and Visual Lease Services, Inc.  Dunlap said this is an annual contract renewal related to energy industry property assessments.

"Visual Lease Services assists the county assessor in assessing all personal oil and gas property," she said.

The second contract, which is for legal services with Tisdal & O'Hara, PLLC, is another annual renewal, Dunlap said.

"They help with any protests against people's taxes, for example if a company protests what they've been assessed for, then Tisdal & O'Hara are legal advisors to tell whether the assessor is doing it right," she said.

Other items on the agenda include a resolution authorizing a levy of a use tax in the same amount as the sales tax

This resolution was originally slated to be discussed during the county board's last meeting on July 29, but Dunlap said the matter had to be postponed until some language in the resolution could be corrected.

"It wasn't worded right for the assessor's office to be able to collect," she said.

Routine items on the agenda include blanket purchase orders, the resolution determining maximum monthly highway expenditures for August, and a utility permit request.  The permit is being sought by Select Energy Services which wants to install a temporary water line under a District 3 roadway located a couple miles west of Woodward in Section 29-T23N-R21W.

The county board will also open bids at 11 a.m. Monday for a 6-month contract for road materials in all highway districts and for a 2014 or newer SUV for the sheriff's office.
