Woodward, Okla. —
Woodward County Commissioners approved a resolution Monday outlining who will be responsible for conducting bridge inspections in the county and assuring that those inspections comply with national standards.
According to County Clerk Charolett Waggoner, the commissioners had the choice between electing to perform the inspections in-house or utilizing either a Circuit Engineering District (CED) or a company that was pre-authorized by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
"We're going with CED8,'' said District 3 Commisioner Vernie Matt. "They've done our bridge inspections for several years."
In other business, the commissioners approved Northwestern Electric's request to install overhead power lines east of Mooreland.
"They're no problem really," explained District 1 Commissioner Tommy Roedell. "They run parallel with the roadway."
The board also approved another request from Northwestern Electric to install an overhead power line crossing a county road just west of Elm Grove Church.
The board likewise approved the allocation of alchoholic beverage tax for October and the cash fund estimate of needs and requests for appropriations for October.
