Film screening set Friday at conference center

Woodward, Okla. — Former NFL linebacker and native Oklahoman Brian Bosworth will be screening his new film "Revelation Road: The Beginning of the End" at the Woodward Conference Center this Friday.

Bosworth, a.k.a. "The Boz," played for the University of Oklahoma in the mid-1980s before being drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in 1987, where he played for 3 seasons.

C.J. Montgomery, president of the Woodward Chamber of Commerce, explained that this showing of the film is one of several select screenings across Oklahoma.

Montgomery explained that the movie is a Christian-based film.

"I believe it has received some excellent ratings from various Christian organizations," he said.

According to the Internet Movie Database at IMDB.com, the film follows the story of a traveling salesman with a mysterious past named Josh McManus, played by actor David A.R. White. McManus finds himself in a West Texas town when a series of events launch him into a war with an outlaw biker gang known as "The Barbarians," led by a vicious man named "Hawg," played by Bosworth.

The IMDB synopsis continues on to say a sudden flash in the sky results in a series of crippling earthquakes, and sends the entire world into chaos. These disasters lead the characters to speculate the rapture may be upon them, but nothing will stop Josh from returning home to confront his worst fears.  The film describes McManus' quest as both a physical and spiritual journey.

Montgomery said the film runs approximately an hour and a half long, and that prior to the 6:30 p.m. screening, Bosworth will be available to sign movie posters, DVDs, and other movie paraphernalia.

"At approximately 4:30 p.m. the meet and greet will begin, then things will wrap up a few minutes prior to the screening," Montgomery said.

The film screening is a free event open to the public, so Montgomery encourages all to come out to the event.

"The Chamber is glad to be involved and we're excited to be a part of the screening," he said. "We welcome Bosworth to Woodward and we look forward to his film."
