County faces varied agenda

Woodward News

Woodward, Okla. — Woodward County Commissioners will face a varied agenda for their next regular meeting at 10 a.m. Monday, March 24 in the county courthouse.

One of their first action items will be to revisit bids that were opened during their last meeting for new telephone and voice mail systems for the Woodward County Health Department.

The county opened 2 bids during their March 17 meeting from Pioneer Telephone and CDOT Communications.  However, commissioners delayed a vote on accepting either bid until both bids could be tabulated for easier comparison.

In other action, the county commissioners will act on a couple of grant matters, including:

• approval of a National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) grant for the Woodward County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC); and

• a notice to proceed on a contract involving 2013 REAP funds for a Mutual Rural Water Tower project.

The county will also attend to some routine matters including the allocation of the alcoholic beverage tax collections for March and the county cash fund estimate of needs and request for appropriations for March.

The commissioners are also slated to meet with other county leaders as they continue to make plans to host the 2014 annual meeting of the Northwest District of the County Officers and Deputies Association (NW CODA).  The 2014 NW CODA meeting is currently scheduled to be held in October.
