Woodward, Okla. —
Bobby Alexander is Woodward's new Citizen of the Year.
The announcement was made during Monday's Chamber of Commerce annual banquet at the Conference Center.
Alexander is owner of Power Rig and also serves as commissioner for this district on the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
Alexander is a member of the Woodward Regional Hospital board, Woodward Airport Board, Woodward Convention Center Board, Bank 7 Board and he is a past president of the International Association of Drilling Contractors for the Mid-Continent Region.
"Bobby is a true optimist and it is his positive attitude that helps him to accomplish whatever task he is about to tackle . . . he leads quietly. That is the best kind of leader," were the words written in the letter nominating Alexander.
Alexander and his wife of 33 years, Brenda, have 2 children, Nicole Jobe is an attorney in St. Louis, Mo., and Shay Ramirez is a dance instructor in Woodward. The Alexanders have 2 grandchildren, Jackson Ramirez and Jaylee Ramirez.
