Woodward, Okla. —
Jazz lovers are in for a treat as Northwestern Oklahoma State University will be hosting "An Evening of Rhythm" at the Woodward Conference Center this Thursday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m.
Lizabeth Richey, director of NWOSU Alumni Relations, said the evening will feature a performance by the Northwestern Jazz Band, which consists of members of the Northwestern Concert Band with a repertoire focused on jazz.
"I think a lot of people like some really good jazz, (and) people who come out Thursday will get to hear some," Richey said.
She said a reception will be held during the concert's intermission in which refreshment will be served, including trays of light finger foods as well as some coffee, tea and water for drinks.
"Any of our alumni and friends are welcome," Richey said. "We'd love to see them all. We have a good number of alums in the Woodward area and we've invited all of them to attend."
In addition to alumni, Richey said the event is free and open to the public, so she encouraged anyone interested in good music to come out.
"We're thrilled with anyone who comes," she said.
She added that those who attend will be thrilled as well.
"The quality of the entertainment will be wonderful, no one will be disappointed. It'll be a great chance for people to get out of the house after last week's blizzard and shake off the stir crazies," Richey said. "It'll be great."
