Woodward, Okla. — Entries are still being accepted until March 7 at 5 p.m. for the 36th annual Paul Laune Memorial Art Competition and Exhibit at the Plains Indians and Pioneers Museum.

The contest is open to students within a 200 mile radius of Woodward, said Rob Roberson, executive director at the museum.

Prizes are offered beginning at $200 for best of show.

“The Paul Laune Art Competition is one of our most popular events at the museum,” Roberson said. “It generates a lot of community interest and is important in encouraging the creative potential in our youth.”

Patrick Riley of Oklahoma City will judge the contest, which includes oil and acrylic painting, watercolor painting, three dimensional works including pottery and sculpture photography and miscellaneous works categories.

Youth art will be on display through March and April with the award presentation on April 11 at the museum. For more information call 580-256-6136.
