Yelloweagle receives 20-year sentence

Woodward, Okla. — David Lee Yelloweagle has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for his conviction in the Sept. 2010 death of Jon Michael Watkins.

On Aug. 23, 2013 after a 4-day trial, a jury of 7 men and 5 women found Yelloweagle guilty of 2nd degree murder in  the beating death of 20-year-old Watkins.

Yelloweagle appeared in court Friday morning for a sentencing hearing, where Associate District Judge Rick Bozarth followed the jury's recommendation of 20 years incarceration.
