Woodward, Okla. —
Woodward’s Board of Education members will consider filling a couple of open positions during the monthly meeting on Monday.
The board meets at 6 p.m. in the school administration building, 10th and Texas.
An executive session is scheduled to discuss hiring a Boomer Kids Club worker and a middle school custodian.
Votes on the 2 positions are scheduled after the board returns to open session.
The only other action item on the short agenda is consideration and voting on the school calendar for the 2013-2014 school year.
Board members do have a number of topics involved with the consent agenda - though everything is typically voted on as one item.
In addition to the regular financial reports and other routine measures, the consent report includes:
• approval of the services agreement between the school and DHS
• approval of a middle school science camp
• approval of a middle school golf camp
• approval of naming Superintendent Tim Merchant as the school’s voting representative at the Northwestern Electric Cooperative annual meeting.
Board members will also hear a superintendent’s report from Merchant.
The Sharon-Mutual Board of Education has 2 meetings this week - the regular one on Monday and a special meeting on Tuesday.
The regular meeting begins at 6:45 p.m. in the school cafeteria in Mutual and the special meeting is at 4 p.m., also in the cafeteria.
Most of the items on the regular meting agenda are routine and the board will hear reports from superintendent Jeff Thompson and principal’s Dustie Shryock and Chris Syms.
At the special meeting on Tuesday, board members are scheduled to consider and take action on calling a school bond election. Other items including voting on acceptance of the audit by Chas. W. Carroll, P.A. and employing Stephen H. McDonald and Associates as a financial consultant to the school district.
