Search continues for escapees

Woodward, Okla. — Law enforcement officials were still searching Tuesday for 2 escapees from William S. Key Correctional Center in Fort Supply.

The escapees, both white males, were last seen at the prison during a 6 p.m. count on Monday, officials said.  They were confirmed missing after not being accounted for during a subsequent 8 p.m. count, according to W. S. Key Warden's Assistant Linda Eike.

The men have been identified as David W. Mackey and Dustin K. Flatt, both 31 years of age.

Mackey is 5'6", 189 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He has numerous tattoos on his chest and back. He was serving time for drug charges from Pontotoc County.

Flatt  is 5'8", 196 points with brown hair and green eyes. He has tribal tattoos on his arms and left shoulder. He was serving time for grand larceny and drug charges from Love County.

Both men were last seen wearing their gray prison uniforms.

Officials did not know a direction of travel Monday night and still had "no leads" as of Tuesday afternoon, Eike said.

Officers from the Woodward County Sheriff's Office and Oklahoma Highway Patrol joined the prison's Correctional Emergency Response Team (CERT) in searching for the 2 men.

However, Eike said things had been "pretty quiet" with no new developments in the search by Tuesday afternoon.

A Department of Corrections team of tracking dogs was sent from another DOC facility late Tuesday afternoon to further assist in the manhunt.  But officials said the dogs had yet to uncover any new information about the escapees' whereabouts as of 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Anyone with information about the escapees or who believe they may have sighted them are asked to contact law enforcement immediately.

"They need to call 9-1-1, the Fugitive Apprehension Team or call William Key right away," Eike said.  "We'd like to get them back into custody just as badly as anybody else."

To reach the DOC Fugitive Apprehension Team call (405) 425-2570.  And for the prison, call (580) 766-2224.
