Winter weather disrupts area

Woodward, Okla. — Several area schools were closed Wednesday due to the mix of ice, rain, sleet, snow and just general winter weather.

Fargo, Fort Supply, Sharon-Mutual, Vici, Shattuck and Gage all closed school on Wednesday due to the weather and Mooreland buses were running 1-hour late.

Roads were slick in sports throughout the area and there were some reports of rollovers and jacknifed trucks. No injuries had been reported so far.

Several local sports events were cancelled Tuesday due to the approach of the weather including Woodward baseball and soccer games. Woodward also will not be going to Kingfisher on Wednesday for golf as originally scheduled.
