Woodward man injured in Major County wreck

Woodward, Okla. — A Woodward man was hospitalized after his truck wrecked in Major County Tuesday afternoon.

Byrum Dean Ketron, 38, was taken by air-evac to Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City where he was admitted with head and trunk internal injuries in stable condition, said the Oklahoma Highway Patrol

Ketron driving his Kenworth truck north on U. S. Highway 281 when for an unknown reason the vehicle went off the road to the right. The vehicle traveled 325 feet before crossing back across the road and exiting to the left, rolling 1/4 time before coming to rest on the driver's side and sliding 150 feet before rolling back on its wheels, according to the OHP report.

Ketron was wearing his seatbelt, the OHP said.

Cause of the collison is still listed as under investigation, said the OHP.

The wreck happened around 12:47 p.m.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Donald Kraft of the Major County detachment and was assisted by other troopers. The Waynoka Police Department and Waynoka EMS also responded.
