Rehiring of support staff focus of school meeting

Woodward, Okla. — Rehiring the school’s support staff tops the list of agenda items for Monday’s Woodward Board of Education meeting.

The meeting is set for 6 p.m. at the school administration building, 10th and Texas.

Board members will discuss the rehirings in executive session along with several new hires, including 2 early childhood center teachers, child nutrition secretary, and 2 special education paraprofessionals. Votes are scheduled in open session.

Up for consideration is the support staff for all the district schools and offices, transportation, central cafeteria and Boomer Kids Club.

The agenda also includes action items on the middle school handbook for the 2013-2014 and the cash fund estimate of needs and request for appropriation for the 1013 building bonds cash fund.

Among items on the consent agenda are approval of several summer athletic camps, approval of surplus property and various reports.

Board members will also recognize the school’s valedictorians and salutatorians and recognize the Soft 7 state competition participants.

They will also hear the report from Superintendent Tim Merchant.
